The Church Playbook

90-Day Win Planner — $27 Offer closes Sunday at 7:00 PM Central

For the small-church pastor with too many priorities

Your Church Doesn't Need Another 12-Month Plan.

It needs one clear win for the next 90 days.

The 90-Day Win Planner helps you decide what your church should focus on next, make your best ideas compete, define the win, and identify the very next step to take.

Most Good Church Ideas Deserve To Lose.

Not because they are bad ideas.

Because your church does not have enough time, people, or money to make every good idea the priority.

Worship could improve. Kids ministry could improve. Guest follow-up could improve. Volunteers need recruited. Outreach needs attention. Administration could get better.

The question is not: "What could we do?"

The better question is: "What should we do next?"

Twelve Months Was Too Far Away.

I made the mistake of setting too many long-term goals early on. In a younger, smaller church, twelve-month goals became too hard to keep track of.

We needed shorter goals. Quick wins.

Nothing creates momentum faster than the stacking of small successes, one on top of the other.

So I started asking one question: "In the next 90 days, what are the three things we could do that would make our Church better or bigger?"

That question changed how we led.

The Process

Focus. Choose. Execute.

16 Ideas

Round 2

Top Idea

The Win

Round 2

16 Ideas

Ideas compete head-to-head until one Top Idea is left standing.

  1. 01

    Focus

Choose the ministry area that needs attention. Options: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism, Children/Youth, Admin, Other.

  2. 02

    Generate

Write down every possible action that could make that area better.

  3. 03

    Choose

Take the top 16 ideas and put them through a tournament-style bracket. Ideas compete head-to-head until one Top Idea remains.

  4. 04

    Define The Win

Complete the statement: "We will ________ by ________."

  5. 05

    Identify Help

Ask: Who do we know inside or outside our church who can help make this happen?

  6. 06

    Take The Next Step

Keep answering: "What is the very next step we need to take to accomplish our 90-Day Win?" Then schedule it.

You Don't Need A Staff Of Twelve.

This process was not built for large churches.

If you are full-time with at least one paid part-time staff person, choose up to three 90-day objectives.

With less staff, choose no more than two.

If your entire team is volunteer, pick one.

You do not need ten objectives. You do not need a strategy department. You do not need another complicated system.

One finished win beats ten priorities nobody can remember.

Head Coaches Don't Run Every Play.

Defining the win does not mean putting one more responsibility on your shoulders.

Once the win is clear, you can identify the people who need to own pieces of it.

You lead the team. You do not have to become the entire team.

This Is Not A 50-Page Strategic Plan.

That is intentional.

You do not need another resource that takes six weeks to understand before your church can use it.

The 90-Day Win Planner is built to help you get the conversation out of your head, onto paper, and into action.

Questions

Will this work for a church with no paid staff?+

Yes. If your entire team is volunteer, focus on only one 90-day objective. That is enough to create real momentum.

How many 90-Day Wins should we choose?+

It depends on your capacity. Up to three if you are full-time with at least one paid part-time staff person. Fewer with less staff. One for an all-volunteer team.

Is this just a daily planner?+

No. It is a decision-making worksheet for identifying a ministry focus, choosing the strongest objective, defining the win, identifying help, and determining the next step.

Can I use this with my leadership team?+

Yes. The process is designed to be worked through with a senior leadership team. You can complete it in a half-day meeting.

What is the 4x4x4 Win Sheet?+

It is an optional $17 add-on available at checkout. It helps each person responsible for part of the 90-Day Win identify four people to meet with and four tasks to accomplish over the next four weeks.

What Could Be Different 90 Days From Now?

You do not have to fix everything in your church this quarter.

You need to decide what matters most.

Define the win. Get the right people involved. Take the next step.

Then do it again tomorrow.

Don't just define the win. Give your team a way to move it forward.

Once you have chosen your church's 90-Day Win, each person responsible for part of that win needs to know what happens next. The 4x4x4 Win Sheet helps them identify the 4 people they need to meet with and the 4 tasks they need to accomplish over the next 4 weeks. So your 90-Day Win does not stay on a planning sheet after the meeting.
